Madison Square

Madison Square, one of the 22 remaining public squares in Savannah’s historic district, was designed in the 1830s. Named after President James Madison, it is also known locally as Jasper Square, in honor of Sgt. William Jasper, a Savannah native who fought in the Revolutionary War. The square is a popular stop for sightseeing, offering visitors a glimpse into the city’s rich history and a place to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
