Established in 1927, the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane is one of Australia’s oldest and largest sanctuaries dedicated to wildlife conservation. Spanning a scenic area along the Brisbane River, the sanctuary is home to more than 130 koalas, as well as a variety of other native Australian animals, including kangaroos, wombats, emus, dingoes, Tasmanian devils, and platypi. Visitors can observe these creatures in their naturalistic habitats, offering a close-up experience with the unique fauna of Australia.
