Little Petra, also known as Siq al-Barid, is a northern satellite of the ancient city of Petra in Jordan. This site centers on a narrow canyon and offers a more intimate, lived-in feel compared to its larger counterpart. Visitors can explore water cisterns, carved houses, and rock-cut stairs, all of which provide a glimpse into the daily life of the Nabateans. The highlight of Little Petra is the Painted House, which boasts one of the only surviving Nabatean painted interiors. Here, intricate and vivid frescoes adorn the walls, offering a rare and detailed look into the artistic and cultural heritage of this ancient civilization.
