Lake Steffen

Lake Steffen, located in Bariloche, Argentina, was named after Hans Steffen, a geographer and explorer hired in the late 1800s to resolve a border dispute between Chile and Argentina. Spanning over 1,450 acres (587 hectares), this glacial lake is a serene and secluded destination, fed by the Manso River. The lake’s clear, trout-filled waters make it a favored spot for fly fishing. Visitors can enjoy the tranquil surroundings and the opportunity to cast a line in one of the region’s most pristine and less-visited bodies of water.
