Situated on Germany’s Baltic Sea Coast, just outside of Kiel, the Laboe Naval Memorial stands as a poignant tribute to all those who lost their lives at sea during World War I and World War II, including both German seafarers and their adversaries. The minimalist complex features a flame-shaped vertical tower, a naval museum, and a WWII-era U-boat submarine. On clear days, visitors can climb the tower for panoramic views that extend as far as Denmark, while the museum and submarine offer deeper insights into maritime history.
