La Parroquia San Vicente Ferrer, one of Santiago’s most recognized buildings, graced Chile’s 2,000 peso banknote for over a decade. Construction on the church and the adjacent convent, which now houses the handicraft market, began in 1809. The well-preserved complex retains much of its original Spanish charm, featuring whitewashed exteriors that draw both parishioners and visitors. Many people stop for a quick photo before heading to the nearby Los Dominicos Handicraft Village. The church stands as a testament to the city’s rich history and continues to be a focal point for both worship and tourism.
