Kylemore Abbey and Victorian Walled Garden

Nestled along the edge of Kylemore Lake, Kylemore Abbey and Victorian Walled Garden is a striking neo-Gothic structure that captures the essence of a storybook castle. Constructed in 1868, the abbey provided employment for locals recovering from the Irish Potato Famine. Today, the resident Benedictine nuns open parts of the abbey and its expansive grounds to visitors, offering a glimpse into its rich history and serene surroundings.
