Just outside of Kota Kinabalu city center, the Kota Kinabalu Wetland Centre is a naturally-occurring mangrove forest that serves as a vital habitat for over 80 species of resident and migratory birds. Fed by both salt and fresh waters, the wetland’s diverse ecosystem supports a rich variety of avian life. Visitors can explore the area to observe these birds in their natural setting, making it one of the best bird-watching sites in urban Sabah.
