Iximché

Iximché, the 15th-century capital of the Kaqchikel kingdom, is a Maya city located on an elevated plateau in Guatemala, near Antigua. Smaller and less frequented than Tikal, this site offers a serene and uncrowded experience. Visitors can explore its temples, plazas, and palaces, all set against a backdrop of steep valleys. Today, Iximché remains a sacred site for modern-day Maya, making it a culturally significant and visually appealing destination.
