Isola Bella

Isola Bella, a small rocky outcrop off the Lido Mazzaro beach near Taormina, Sicily, is connected to the mainland by a narrow strip of sand often submerged at high tide. Gifted to Taormina in 1806 by the King of Sicily, it was later purchased by Scottish Lady Florence Trevelyan, whose villa still stands on the highest point. In 1990, the region of Sicily took over and designated it as a nature reserve. Visitors today can explore this picturesque spot, which offers a blend of natural beauty and historical charm, set against the backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea.
