Hunting Island State Park, spanning 5,000 acres along South Carolina’s Atlantic coast, is a diverse landscape of marshes, maritime forests, and an ocean inlet. The park also includes a saltwater lagoon and 5 miles of beachfront, making it a natural haven for both wildlife and visitors. At the heart of the park stands a lighthouse, built in 1875, offering a glimpse into its historical past. Today, visitors can explore the nature center, visit the visitor center, and enjoy fishing from the pier, all while immersing themselves in the rich, varied ecosystems that define this coastal gem.
