Hopi House

Hopi House

Designed by architect Mary Colter, Hopi House stands on the rim of the Grand Canyon in Grand Canyon Village, designed to resemble a traditional Hopi pueblo. The building features masonry walls made of red sandstone, multi-level terraced roofs, and corner fireplaces. Mud-plaster walls and ceilings crafted from mud-coated saplings, grasses, and twigs, supported by peeled log beams, add to its authentic feel. For over a century, Hopi House has been a place where visitors can purchase genuine Native American arts and crafts, immersing themselves in the rich cultural heritage of the region.
