Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation

Originally named Broadface in 1763, the Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation was a working rice plantation located in the Golden Isles of the USA. Spanning 1,286 acres, it was part of a larger 7,000-acre estate where hundreds of enslaved people lived and worked in over 50 slave cabins. Today, visitors can explore the Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation Museum, which houses antebellum antiques and heirlooms from the original family, offering a glimpse into the plantation’s history. The site also features hiking trails that wind through the historic grounds, providing a serene and educational experience.
