Spread out across 57 acres in Belgium, near the border with Germany, the Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery and Memorial serves as the final resting place for 7,987 service members who perished while fighting for the Allies. The cemetery features rows of white marble headstones, each marking the grave of a fallen soldier. A memorial also stands on the grounds, inscribed with the names of 450 soldiers who went missing during the war. Visitors can walk through the peaceful, well-maintained grounds, reflecting on the sacrifices made by these individuals and the impact of their service.
