Great Barbican

The Great Barbican, a 15th-century, 7-turreted bastion in Krakow, once safeguarded the city’s main gate, St. Florian’s Gate, and the Old Town it encloses. As one of the few remaining parts of Krakow’s historic fortifications, the barbican features a small museum and medieval passageways. Visitors can explore its courtyard, which comes alive during summer with events like jousting and pageants, offering a glimpse into the city’s rich past.
