Galle Lighthouse

Rising from the ramparts of Galle Fort on Sri Lanka’s southwest coast, the Galle Lighthouse stands as a prominent and photogenic landmark. Constructed by the British in 1939 to replace an earlier light station, this 86.9-foot (26.5-meter) lighthouse is the oldest on the island.
