Fernandina Island (Isla Fernandina)

Fernandina Island, located on the west side of Isabela Island in Ecuador, is one of the least visited islands in the Galapagos. This unique island is characterized by its active volcanic state, which results in a landscape nearly devoid of vegetation and a surreal, almost otherworldly scenery. Despite its barren appearance, Fernandina is a haven for wildlife, hosting an impressive colony of marine iguanas, as well as Galapagos penguins and cormorants. Visitors can explore this rugged terrain and observe these fascinating species in their natural habitat.
