A short drive from Lisbon on the Portuguese Riviera, Estoril is a coastal town known for its clear waters and sandy beaches. The waterfront promenade stretches all the way to the neighboring town of Cascais, offering scenic views. Many of Estoril’s luxurious amenities, including the star attraction, Casino Estoril, date back to World War II when neutral Portugal provided refuge for soldiers and civilians. This casino is said to have inspired Ian Fleming while writing the James Bond novel, Casino Royale. Today, visitors can enjoy the beach, take a leisurely walk along the promenade, and explore the historic casino.
