Essex Farm Cemetery

The Essex Farm Cemetery, located in the Ypres Salient of Belgium, serves as a poignant burial ground and memorial for approximately 1,200 service personnel from World War I. This site holds the remains of Commonwealth soldiers who perished between April 1915 and August 1917, many of whom were casualties treated at a nearby dressing station. Among the graves, 103 are unidentified, adding to the somber atmosphere. Visitors today can walk through the rows of white headstones, each marking a life lost, and reflect on the profound impact of the war.
