El Misti Volcano

El Misti, a soaring stratovolcano near Arequipa, Peru, stands at an impressive 19,101 feet (5,822 meters) above sea level. Its symmetric conical shape, formed by rotating layers of lava and debris from past eruptions, dominates the landscape. From the summit, trekkers and climbers can gaze over the peaks of neighboring volcanoes.
