The Dodengang, or Trench of Death, was a perilous network of revetments, saps, and dug-outs for Belgian troops on the Western Front during World War I. Located near Diksmuide in Flanders, this trench system stood just 164 feet (50 meters) from a German bunker, making it a critical and highly contested position. The Belgian Army held this line to prevent the German advance toward France. Today, visitors can explore the preserved trenches, gaining a vivid sense of the harsh conditions and strategic importance of this historic site.
