Deeg Palace, the former summer residence of the Jat rulers of Bharatpur, stands as a testament to the region’s rich history, dating back to 1772. Commissioned by Maharaja Suraj Mal, a ruler known for his bravery and raids on prominent sites like the Red Fort in Delhi and the Taj Mahal, the palace showcases the spoils of these conquests. Much of the granite and marble used in its construction is believed to have been sourced from the Red Fort. Today, visitors can explore this historic site, which offers a glimpse into the opulence and architectural prowess of the Jat rulers.
