Danjo Garan Temple

Nestled in the heart of Japan’s sacred Mt. Koya temple town, Danjo Garan is a central temple complex and UNESCO World Heritage site. This sprawling area encompasses about 20 buildings, including several temples, the ceremonial Kondo Hall, and the striking Great Stupa (Konpon Daito). Standing at 160 feet (49 meters), the vermilion pagoda houses a mandala and five statues of the seated Buddha.
