Conwy Town Walls

Constructed in the 13th century, Conwy Town Walls were part of Edward I’s “iron ring” of castles, designed to consolidate his control over North Wales. Stretching for less than a mile (about 1.3 kilometers), these walls feature 21 towers and three original gatehouses. The fortifications remain largely undamaged, providing a well-preserved example of medieval military architecture. Visitors can walk along the walls, taking in the historic layout and panoramic views of the town and surrounding countryside.
