Located at the southern end of La Rambla, the Columbus Monument (Mirador de Colom) rises to a height of approximately 197 feet (60 meters), providing visitors with some of Barcelona’s most impressive views. Built as a tribute to Christopher Columbus, the monument stands as a significant historical landmark. Originally, it was the first structure in the city to feature an elevator, which was hydraulic. Today, a modern lift transports visitors to the top, where they can enjoy panoramic vistas of the surrounding area.
