Cenote de la Bruja

Cenote de la Bruja, also known as the Cenote Negro due to its dark-blue waters, is steeped in local legend. The name originates from a tale of an old woman who cursed the land and all who stepped on it after being evicted from her home. Located in Bacalar, Mexico, this cenote is the smallest in diameter among the region’s four cenotes but boasts sheer drops of up to 100 meters (330 feet). Visitors can explore the mysterious, deep waters and immerse themselves in the rich folklore that surrounds this natural wonder.
