Broken Chair Sculpture

Set directly opposite the Palais des Nations in Geneva’s International District, the Broken Chair sculpture by Daniel Berset has stood as a stark reminder of the dangers of landmines since 1997. This oversized wooden chair, nearly 40 feet (12 meters) tall, stands on three legs, with the fourth leg depicted as brutally severed. The imposing structure invites visitors to pause and reflect on its powerful message, making it a significant and emblematic piece of art in the city.
