The Bright Filial Piety Temple, or Guangxiao Si, stands as the oldest Buddhist temple in Guangzhou, with its origins tracing back to the fourth century. The main hall houses a 33-foot (10-meter) statue of the Buddha, along with another large statue of Guanyin, the goddess of compassion.
