Founded in 678 BC by Buddhist monk Ui Sang, Beomeosa Temple is nestled on the slopes of Geumjeongsan Mountain. The current temple complex, constructed in 1613, replaced the original structure destroyed during the Imjin War with Japan. Visitors can explore a pagoda, several pavilions, and three ornate gates, all set within a serene and historic environment. The temple also houses 11 hermitages, offering a glimpse into the spiritual and monastic life that has thrived here for centuries.
