Beng Mealea

Dating back to the 12th century, Beng Mealea is a sandstone temple located in Siem Reap, Cambodia, designed to mirror the grandeur of Angkor Wat. The temple is encircled by a massive moat, which was once engulfed by dense jungle. Entering from the south, visitors are greeted by a scene of haphazardly scattered sandstone blocks and creeping vines, offering a glimpse into the temple’s ancient past. Today, the site provides a unique experience, allowing visitors to explore its overgrown ruins and imagine the splendor it once held.
