Bell Tower (Zhonglou)

Positioned just north of the Drum Tower (Gulou), Beijing’s Bell Tower (Zhonglou) has a history that dates back to the 13th century, though its current structure was rebuilt in the 18th century. This grey stone edifice once served as the city’s timekeeper until 1924. Inside, visitors can see an enormous bell and explore a tea house. The tower also offers panoramic views of the surrounding area, providing a glimpse into the historical and architectural significance of this landmark.
