Batasia Loop

Just south of Darjeeling, the Batasia Loop is a picturesque turnaround point on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway. Here, the narrow-gauge track, part of the famous Darjeeling Toy Train line, makes a broad loop, allowing trains to navigate the steep terrain. At the center of the loop, the Batasia Eco Garden flourishes, and a war memorial honors Gorkha soldiers. Visitors can stroll through the garden, enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, and pay respects at the memorial, all while experiencing the unique engineering that characterizes this historic railway.
