Banpo Village

Banpo Village, a well-preserved archaeological site in the Yellow River Valley, dates back more than 6,000 years and is considered one of the oldest human settlements in China. Located near Xi’an, the village once featured a defensive moat and around 45 circular mud-and-wood thatched houses, which are early examples of Chinese architecture. Today, visitors can explore the remains of these ancient structures, gaining insight into the daily life and building techniques of Neolithic inhabitants.
