Ateshgah (Fire Temple)

Ateshgah, also known as the Fire Temple of Baku, is a former monastery and place of worship for Hindus, Sikhs, and Zoroastrians. Built on one of Azerbaijan’s natural gas vents, which once produced an eternal flame, the temple served as a site for fire rituals. Though the natural flame has since extinguished, it is now occasionally rekindled using gas pipes. Today, the temple complex stands as an architectural reserve, preserving its historical and cultural significance. Visitors can explore the intricate structures and learn about the diverse religious practices that once thrived here.
