Ascensor Concepcion

Ascensor Concepcion, also known as the Turri Elevator, is Valparaíso’s oldest elevator and a gateway to the charming Paseo Gervasoni at the top of Cerro Concepcion. Originally powered by steam, it now operates electrically, offering a steep and rickety ascent up the hillside. As you ride, the creaking and swaying of the elevator add to the authentic experience, transporting visitors to a time when this was the primary means of navigating the city’s hilly terrain.
