Arnhem Land, located at the far north-east of Australia’s Northern Territory, is a vast wilderness area primarily inhabited by the Yolngu Aboriginal people. This expansive region boasts some of the country’s most ancient rock art sites, set amidst a diverse landscape of rainforest, woodlands, gorges, wetlands, escarpments, beaches, and rivers. Visitors can explore this rich cultural and natural environment, but must do so on an approved guided tour and with a permit to enter, ensuring the preservation of its unique heritage.
