Amphitheater of Serdica

Discovered beneath Sofia in 2004, the Amphitheater of Serdica dates back to the 3rd century. This ancient venue, with a capacity of 25,000, once hosted gladiator battles and blood sports. Today, it is part of the Ulpia Serdica archaeological complex. Visitors can explore a small section of the remains, including artifacts and animal prints uncovered at the site, offering a glimpse into the city’s rich Roman past.
