Dating back to the second century AD, the Amman Roman Theater is a striking example of Roman architecture, nestled towards the base of Amman Citadel in Jordan. This restored theater once accommodated an audience of 6,000 and still hosts shows and concerts during the summer. The 3-tier seating structure reflects the social hierarchy of Roman society, with rulers seated at the front, the army in the middle, and ordinary citizens at the top. Today, visitors can explore the well-preserved tiers and imagine the vibrant performances that once filled this historic venue.
