Akashi Kaikyo Bridge (Akashi Strait Bridge)

Spanning the Akashi Strait from Kobe to Awaji Island, the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge opened in 1998 and stands as one of the world’s longest suspension bridges. Its central span stretches an impressive 1,991 meters (6,532 feet). Visitors can explore the Bridge Exhibition Center and the Maiko Marine Promenade, both offering insights into the bridge’s engineering and the surrounding marine environment. The promenade, in particular, provides a unique vantage point to appreciate the bridge’s scale and the vast waters it crosses.
