Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Indian Botanic Gardens

Nestled in the Shibpur suburb of Kolkata, the Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Indian Botanic Gardens spans 269 acres (109 hectares) and traces its origins to the late 1700s. Established by the British East India Company, the gardens were initially used for studying and developing commercial plants for trade.
