In 1596, Ferdinando I de’ Medici, the Grand Duke of Tuscany, commissioned the renowned Italian architect Bernardo Buontalenti to construct a hunting villa, which soon transformed into the court and estate for the Grand Duke and Duchess. Located in the picturesque Tuscan countryside, Villa di Artimino is now part of a prestigious group of twelve villas and two gardens that collectively hold UNESCO World Heritage status. Visitors today can explore the historic grounds and admire the architectural legacy of this significant Renaissance-era estate.
