Chor Bazaar

Chor Bazaar, one of Mumbai’s largest markets, is a bustling and cacophonous hub filled with an array of second-hand items, including old furniture and antique trinkets. The market’s name, which translates to ‘thieves market,’ stems from a local joke suggesting that anything lost in Mumbai will eventually turn up here. Despite the humorous implication, most of the goods are not stolen. Visitors can explore the narrow, crowded lanes, where the sights and sounds of haggling and the rich, eclectic mix of wares create a unique and vibrant atmosphere.
