Fisherman’s Bastion, or Halaszbastya, perches high on Castle Hill, offering one of Budapest’s most picturesque lookouts. Built between 1895 and 1902 to celebrate the millennial anniversary of Hungary, this neo-Romanesque terrace features decorative stonework and sweeping views. Though the current structure is ornamental, it stands on the site of fortified walls that once played a crucial role in defending the city. Today, visitors can stroll along the terraces, admire the intricate architecture, and enjoy panoramic vistas of the Danube and the surrounding cityscape.
