Temple of Athena Nike

Perched atop a high bastion by the Propylaea, the main gate of the Acropolis, the Temple of Athena Nike stands as a testament to ancient Greek architecture. Constructed between 421 and 426 BC by Kallikrates, who also designed the Parthenon, this small temple is a classic example of the Ionic style. It features a 4-column portico at either end, creating a harmonious and balanced structure. Visitors today can admire its elegant design and gain insight into the architectural prowess of the classical era.
