National Gardens of Athens (Ethnikos Kipos)

The National Gardens of Athens, originally named after Queen Amalia, a German princess who reigned over the Kingdom of Greece in the 19th century, was commissioned by her and lovingly tended to after its construction in 1840. Spanning nearly 60 acres, the gardens offer a lush retreat in the heart of the city. Visitors can explore a variety of features, including tranquil lakes, a conservatory, and a children’s library. The garden’s diverse collection of trees, flowers, and plants provides a serene and refreshing environment for both locals and tourists.
