Downtown Willemstad

Downtown Willemstad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offers a charming blend of Dutch colonial architecture and Caribbean flair. The area is characterized by narrow cobbled lanes and rows of gabled houses, their red roofs and sorbet-colored facades in hues of pink, blue, and orange. Divided by the St. Anna Bay, the downtown comprises two main sections: Punda on the right bank and Otrobanda on the left. Visitors can stroll along the canals, admiring the picturesque waterfront and the vibrant, well-preserved buildings that reflect the island’s rich history.
