Lama Temple (Yonghegong)

The Lama Temple, also known as Yonghegong, originally served as a palace for Emperor Yongzheng before he ascended to the throne as the third emperor of the Qing Dynasty. Located in Beijing, this significant Tibetan Buddhist temple outside Tibet now houses a lamasery with about two dozen Tibetan monks. The temple’s resplendent architecture includes several halls, courtyards, and ponds, all set against the backdrop of a large bronze mandala. Visitors can explore these serene spaces, experiencing the rich cultural and spiritual heritage that continues to thrive within its walls.
