Leshan Giant Buddha (Da Fo)

The Leshan Giant Buddha, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands at an impressive 233 feet (71 meters) tall, making it the largest Buddha sculpture in the world. Carved into a cliff face, the statue’s creation began in 713 by a Buddhist monk who sought divine protection for local fishermen. The project took 90 years to complete.
