The Dule Temple, or Temple of Solitary Joy, is a large Buddhist temple located in Jizhou, northern China. Its origins date back to the 7th century, and it boasts some of the country’s oldest wooden structures. The front gate and the towering Guanyin Pavilion, both over 1,000 years old, stand as remarkable examples of ancient Chinese architecture. Inside, vibrant murals and statues, including a colossal clay statue of the Goddess of Mercy (Guanyin), bring the temple to life. Visitors can explore these historic buildings and admire the intricate artwork that has been preserved for centuries.
