Pre Rup

Pre Rup, a 3-tier mountain temple constructed in 961 AD, stands as a testament to the Hindu god Shiva. Located near Angkor Wat in Cambodia, its name translates to ‘turn the body,’ leading some to speculate it was used for cremations. The temple’s warm brickwork and red laterite stone create a striking visual, especially during sunrise or sunset, making it a popular spot for visitors. Climbing to the top, one can explore the five sanctuary towers and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
